Chamois: More Than My Skin

12" x 18" Pastel on PastelMat Original Now: $150; prints available in store The chamois is a (tiny!) species of goat-antelope native to the mountains of Europe. Females & their young live in herds of between 15-30. If a mother dies, other females in the herd raise her young. Sadly, you may recognize their name as being the same as the chamois/shammy leather cloth used to clean grandpa's car. In the past, the animals were hunted for their hides. Thankfully today a cotton version is available.
